FERPA Training

Marylhurst University is dedicated to ensuring that all members of the Marylhurst community are aware of their rights and responsibilities under FERPA.

The training materials on this page are designed to inform various constituents about FERPA so that they can meet the university's legal and ethical responsibility to protect student confidentiality.

Which training should I choose?

  • FERPA 101 is intended for employees whose job responsibilities do not normally involve accessing student data, such as those in the campus store, housekeeping, and facilities. This training provides a basic introduction to FERPA to acquaint employees with the existence and spirit of the act and their responsibilities under it.
  • FERPA 201 is intended for employees whose job responsibilities do involve working with student data, such as those in academic departments, enrollment and student services, development and alumni services, and finance. This training provides comprehensive coverage of FERPA and employee responsibilities under it.
