Computer Labs
Shoen Library offers Windows and Apple computers with access to the Internet and printing. Computers are available throughout the library for drop-in use, and there are two labs for instruction.
PC Teaching Lab
The PC lab accommodates 16 students and includes a teaching station with digital projection. The lab can be reserved by instructors and is available for drop-in use when not reserved for instruction.
Design Lab
The design lab houses 10 Apple iMac computers with design software – Photoshop, Illustrator and PowerCADD – for interior design, art, communications and other classes. All workstations have 20-inch displays. The instructor's workstation provides projection to a screen. The lab can be reserved by instructors.
Whipple Music Room
The Whipple Music Room computer lab supports fine arts studies with two PowerMac G4s, one eMac and one PC with video, DVD and MIDI capabilities.
Wireless Access for Laptops
Shoen Library has WiFi – wireless access to the Internet. This service is available from most areas in the library. The library also has Ethernet cables for short-term loan with a plug-in area on the lower level.
Printing
Black & White prints can be made from any of the computers in the library for $.05 a page. Color copies are $.50 each, and they can be made from the Kiosk and Drop-In Lab computers on the main floor of the library.
