Library Catalogs: RefWorks Import
The process involves exporting a saved list from a library catalog and using RefWorks to import the file containing the records.

- After saving marked records from the library catalog search results, choose "Export Saved List."
- Choose "End-Note/RefWorks" format and save to local disk as a text file.
- Open your RefWorks account and choose "Import" from the References tab.
- Set the Import Filter/Data Source as Marylhurst University. Choose Marylhurst - Shoen Library Catalog Import. Select your saved file (from step two) for the "Import from the following text file" option. Import your references.
- The references will appear in RefWorks in the Last Imported Folder.

- After saving marked records from the library catalog search results, choose "Export List."
- Choose "End-Note/RefWorks" format and save to local disk as a text file.
- Open your RefWorks account and choose "Import" from the References tab.

- The citations will appear in RefWorks in the Last Imported Folder.

- Click the "Export" button at the top or bottom of the screen.
- Click the buttons next to "Marked records from this search" and "RefWorks," then click the "Export" button.

Research Databases: Exporting Citations
It is possible to export citations from many of the library research databases directly into RefWorks. Login to RefWorks first, then open up a new browser window and begin searching the library databases.

- Click the "Add" button to the right of the citation.
- Click the "Folder has items" button at the top right of the page.
- Select the citations you wish to export and click the "Export" button on the right of the page.
- Make sure the "Direct Export to RefWorks" button is selected and click "Save."
- The citations will appear in RefWorks in the Last Imported Folder.

- Click "View Saved Citations" on the top right.
- Click "Directly export citations into RefWorks."

- Choose the "Export Bibliographic References" option. (This is the tiny book icon.)
- Select the RefWorks option and export.
- The citations will appear in RefWorks in the Last Imported Folder.

- When viewing a citation, click on "Download citation."
- Export directly to RefWorks.
- The citation will appear in RefWorks in the Last Imported Folder.

- Click the box to the left of the citation(s) you wish to export.
- Click the "Exporting/Citing" button on the left side of the page.
- Click on "Export to RefWorks, EndNote software."
- Make sure the "RefWorks' Direct Export Tool" button is filled, and click on the "Export" button.
- The citations will appear in RefWorks in the Last Imported Folder.
