An article by Dr. Patricia Allen, food systems & society department chair, was selected for inclusion in a "best of" retrospective issue of the esteemed journal Gastronomica.
The Marylhurst University student food pantry is located in Marian Hall. The pantry is a large cabinet in the main hallway, stocked with non-perishable food items.
All Marylhurst community members who are in need of food are welcome to come to the cabinet and take what they need. "No check in, no limits – just come and take what you need along with the blessing and care of the Marylhurst community," says Bill Zuelke, dean of students.
If students have need and they are on campus at a time when Marian Hall is locked, they can check in with reception and security personnel will open Marian Hall.
The Marylhurst University community is invited to participate in keeping the food pantry full. Those wishing to donate commercially sealed, non-perishable food items should bring them to Marian Hall and place the items in the student pantry cabinet.
