The Art Gym: Dianne KornbergSeptember 10 - October 24, 2007Field Notes: Photographs by Dianne Kornberg, 1992 2007A retrospective exhibition for one of the Pacific Northwest's most accomplished photographers, Field Notes comprises nearly 100 of Dianne Kornberg's photographs and is the most comprehensive exhibition of her work to date. The exhibition includes both gelatin silver prints and pigment inkjet prints. It begins with work from the artist's early Bone Stories series, progresses through her images of comparative-anatomy specimens from Reed College and carefully wrapped butterflies and moths from India, and concludes with her most recent focus on herbarium collections from the University of Washington Laboratories on San Juan Island in Washington state. Field Notes will travel to the Western Gallery at Western Washington University in April 2008. About the ArtistDianne Kornberg has exhibited at many prestigious museums and galleries, including the International Center for Photography in New York, House of Photography in Prague, G. Ray Hawkins Gallery in Los Angeles, the Princeton University Art Museum, Nohra Haime Gallery in New York City, Zolla/Lieberman Gallery of Chicago, the Seattle Art Museum, the Portland Art Museum and the Tacoma Art Museum. She divides her time between Portland, Oregon, and Obstruction Island in the San Juan Islands. | |||||||
