Military Benefits and Scholarships for Marylhurst

Tuition and fees vary depending on which degree program you are enrolled in. Financial aid also can be used to assist with other education expenses, such as books, transportation, and room and board.

Veteran Benefits – Eligibility

If you think you may be eligible for education benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), you should apply. The VA regional processing office reviews all applications and makes decisions about granting benefits so there’s no risk in applying.

Application Process – Qualifying Veteran

 Step One – Rights and Responsibilities Form

Complete the Marylhurst VA education benefits rights and responsibilities form. Mail the form to: VA Certifying Official | Advising Center, Marylhurst University, P.O. Box 261, Marylhurst, OR 97036-0261. Keep a copy for your records.

 Step Two – Certificate of Eligibility

  • If you have never received veterans’ education benefits before, please complete Form 22-1990: Application for VA Education Benefits.
  • If you have received veterans’ education benefits while attending another higher education institution, please complete Form 22-1995: Request for Change of Program or Place of Training.

Send the completed and signed original to: VA Regional Office, P.O. Box 8888, Muskogee, OK 74402-8888

Send a copy of your completed form to Marylhurst: VA Certifying Official | Advising Center, Marylhurst University, P.O. Box 261, Marylhurst, OR 97036-0261

Electronic filing option
If you prefer to file electronically, you may complete Form 22-1990 or Form 22-1995 online at the VA online application website.

If you file online, please send a copy of your online application to the certifying officials in the Office of Financial Aid at Marylhurst University.

  Step Three – Certifying Your Enrollment

When we have received your completed forms and verified your registration for the appropriate term, our certifying official will certify your enrollment with the Department of Veterans Affairs. We usually certify enrollment two weeks prior to the start of each term.

Military Scholarship

Marylhurst University offers a military service scholarship to students who are:

  • Currently serving on active duty,
  • Have been honorably discharged from active duty in any branch of the United States armed forces, or
  • National Guard or Reserve personnel who have been federally mobilized for more than 30 days for purposes other than training.

Scholarship levels are based on your degree program and enrollment status. After we’ve approved your scholarship, you’ll receive a confirmation letter indicating the amount of your scholarship per term and how it was calculated.
