There are two computer labs on the ground floor of Shoen Library: the Design Lab (7 PCs running Windows OS) and the Teaching Lab (19 Apple iMacs running OSX). All lab computers are connected to the Internet and to color and black & white printers.
These lab computers are available for drop-in use when classes are not in session. The lab schedules are posted outside the lab door and online:
Design Lab Schedule | Teaching Lab Schedule
All lab computers have:
- Recent version of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Recent version of Adobe CS (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Pro, Bridge)
- Firefox browser
And the Design Lab* has:
- Google Sketchup Pro 8
- AutoCAD Revit Architecture Suite
*Students who are enrolled in specific interior design and photography classes have priority in the Design Lab.
We regularly update and add new software. If you’d like to see something added, let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. No guarantees, but we’ll do our best to add it!
The four professional quality Epson printers are intended for art and interior design students. The black and white printers are for anyone. Please pay for all prints at the Circulation Desk in Shoen Library.
Saving your work
Please note, we do NOT back up files on the lab computers. Save your work to your own device, such as a USB memory stick or cloud storage. All computers are wiped (i.e., all files are removed) at the end of every term.
Closed during breaks
The labs are closed during term breaks for maintenance.
