Marylhurst is addressing the needs of the hospitality workforce and economy by offering an employer-respected hospitality management program in response to the booming industry. Organizations, individuals and the media are taking note of this highly-regarded, growing program.
Managing the cost of your education can be done in several ways at Marylhurst:
Transfer in your previous credit: Marylhurst accepts a wide range of transfer credits. Most of our students transfer in credit earned at previous four-year institutions or at a community college.
Scholarship opportunities: We award about $1 million in scholarships each year, and we offer a scholarship for transfer students as well as military personnel and Phi Theta Kappa members. Provenance Hotels and the Travel Portland Education Foundation have also sponsored scholarships specifically for students in the Hospitality Management program.
Credit for Prior Learning program: Save on tuition and time to complete your degree by earning credit for previous learning, like work and military experience. Marylhurst is a nationally recognized leader in credit for prior learning. Students who pursue credit for prior learning can save as much as $17,500 in tuition (based on current tuition rates).
Founded in 1893 by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, Marylhurst was one of the first Northwest institutions to offer a college education to women. Today, MU is a modern, applied liberal arts and business university serving men and women of all faiths and backgrounds. Students may enroll any term and begin fulfilling coursework within the Marylhurst Core or general electives. Most students start fall or spring term when hospitality management courses begin.
