Ann Marie Fallon, Ph.D.

As the university’s provost, Dr. Fallon establishes the academic vision for the university and oversees overall academic integrity for the institution. As a member of the President’s Executive Leadership Team, Dr. Fallon participates in strategic academic planning and management, policy formulation, budgetary decisions and problem solving, and offers advice and counsel on the implications of institutional decisions on both the academic program and the student experience.
Prior to Marylhurst, Dr. Fallon served 13 years as a faculty member and administrator at Portland State University. She was the founding director of the University Honors College at Portland State, where she improved the quality of applications through the recruitment of National Merit scholars as well as high achieving, first-in-family college students in the region. She also created transfer pathways for local community college students, returning adult students and international students. Prior to directing the Honors College, she served as associate director of the Portland Center for the Humanities, which serves to connect Portland State’s scholarly community with the city of Portland.
Dr. Fallon is a professor of humanities and international studies. She is also a former Fulbright fellow.
