John Erickson has over 50 years of hospitality industry management experience with Westin Hotels, Four Season Hotels, American Golf Corporation, KemperSports and others across 18 states. Certified as a Hotel Industry Analyst and Hotel Executive, John is presently the first designated Director of Hospitality Management in the School of Business at Marylhurst University and is a consultant to companies and independent owners in all areas of the hospitality industry. A founding member of HSMAI Houston Chapter with over 20 years of experience as a sales and marketing executive he has managed and directed hotels, resorts, Destination Marketing Organizations, and Associations developing business in six major markets for convention and corporate meetings.
As an executive recruiter for the industry John has conducted engaged searches for managers and C-suite executives for multiple companies and associations.
Mr. Erickson has extensive experience in service delivery development and training with Westin Hotels and Resorts, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, as well as American Golf Corporation.
Mr. Erickson serves as the Chairman of The Board for Tourism Development Council of Clackamas County maintaining a thorough knowledge of today’s business climate, challenges, and opportunities, and is a past board member of United Way of Atlanta, GA, Houston, TX, and Chicago, IL. Additional board positions held include Boy’s & Girls Clubs of Northern Arizona, along with the Oregon Restaurant and Lodging Association Education Foundation, and presently serves on the Board of Directors for Mary’s Woods a lifestyle retirement community. Most recently, Mr. Erickson has been appointed as the Clackamas County Representative for the Metropolitan Exposition and Recreation Commission.
