Patty is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). She has been working as a counselor in the KEY Therapeutic Behavior Program since 2014, and began supervising art therapy counselor interns in 2015. She has worked in public schools and public colleges for over ten years. As a former Behavioral Health Counselor with an EAP, she provided individual, marital, and family counseling services to diverse groups. In addition, she volunteered as a mental health therapist with the Returning Veterans Project of Oregon.

Her treatment modalities include family systems, cognitive behavioral therapy, and reality therapy. She incorporates art therapy into her social skills classes with help from the art therapy counselor intern. Art therapy allows her students, grades kindergarten through 8th grade, an opportunity to process difficult emotions and traumatic events. Patty has seen positive movement and growth in students who choose to work with the art therapy counselor intern. She reports that art therapy is a favorite activity in the program!
