Marylhurst alum Andee Hess ’03 and her firm Osmose Design are the creative forces behind the new Q restaurant in downtown Portland.
For Portlanders who miss the recently closed Veritable Quandry – the VQ – the new Q restaurant fits the bill.
In the restaurant’s interior space, Hess captured the VQ’s memorable atmosphere, with dark woods, stained glass, and a bar that opens to patio seating.
New takes include an intimate chef’s counter, where patrons can watch chef Annie Cuggino make the magic happen with fresh and locally sourced ingredients. Expansive, street-facing windows let in plenty of natural light.
Q is located at 828 S.W. Second Avenue in downtown Portland and is open for lunch, dinner, brunch and offers a full cocktail bar menu.
Andee Hess earned her bachelor’s degree in interior design from Marylhurst University in 2003. She worked four years at Skylab Architecture before starting her award-winning firm, Osmose Design, in 2007.
