Prior to this appointment, Katie Brooks had 14+ years experience in health care, specializing in elder care. She began her career as a nurse, and since 2006 has worked primarily in elder care, serving as community relations coordinator for Highgate Senior Living, hospital liaison at HCR ManorCare, director of resident services at Koelsch Senior Living, and resident care manager at Victory Health and Rehab. She has also served on boards for organizations such as Southwest Washington Elder Abuse Prevention Coalition.

Katie also created programs to enrich the lives of seniors such as Young at heART, senior skydiving and bucket list zip lining.

“Some people look at our elder population as if their lives are done being lived. They are not,” Katie said. “There is still so much for them to experience, and in turn, enrich our lives.”
