Laura Kirk ’08 was recently named digital communications and marketing manager for L’Arche USA, a Portand-based nonprofit that champions people with intellectual disabilities.
In her new role, Laura Kirk oversees digital communications for L’Arche USA, including all internal and external newsletters, social media strategy and implementation, website content and strategy, and more.
“I really enjoy getting to tell the stories of the core members and assistants at the heart of our organization,” Laura wrote on LinkedIn.
L’Arche communities provide homes and workplaces where people with and without intellectual disabilities live and work together as peers, create inclusive communities of faith and friendship, and transform society through relationships that cross social boundaries.
“Her passion for community and inclusion spark her passion for being a part of L’Arche,” says the company’s news release announcing Laura’s appointment.
Prior to joining L’Arche USA, Laura was events director for Special Olympics of Oregon, where she managed the massive annual food, beer and wine festival and fundraiser, The Bite of Oregon.
Laura Kirk earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Marylhurst University in 2008.
