According to her students at Cathedral School in Portland, Mrs. Rae takes a hands-on approach.

Rae also caught the judges’ attention by instructing students to make Apps for smartphones.

Rae admits technology can upstage a teacher.

“It means you’re not always going to be the smartest one in the room, but it helps me learn something new through my students every day,” Rae said.
