Marian Pierce’s Book Featured at County Library

Marian Pierce Finding Land
A short story collection by Marian Pierce, English faculty, was selected in March 2016 to be featured on the Multnomah County Library’s site as part of the Library Writers Project.

Marian Pierce’s collection of 10 stories of Japan, Finding Land, is now featured in Multnomah County Library’s e-book collection. Library patrons can click on Overdrive, or download the app, and check out Pierce’s book in e-book format.

The Library Writers Project gives library cardholders the chance to submit their novels or story collections for the Multnomah County Library e-book collection. Previously unpublished works of adult fiction are reviewed by a judging committee, and titles that are selected for the collection have become available to the community of readers in Multnomah County.

Marian Pierce has been teaching in the Department of English at Marylhurst since 1999. Her short stories have appeared in many publications including Portland Monthly and Gentlemen’s Quarterly. Awards include the Frederick Exley Fiction Competition sponsored by GQ and a fellowship from the Oregon Arts Commission. Marian will be teaching a weekend Writing and Yoga class at Marylhurst this summer.
