Marylhurst University announced three new appointees to its Board of Trustees: Kathleen Kee, Soo Pak and Victor Vasquez.

“I could not be more excited about these three individuals offering their expertise to Marylhurst,” said Melody Rose, president of Marylhurst University. “Their combined experience in financial management, brand strategy and partnerships, and public policy will serve our university well.”

Kathleen Kee is a certified financial planner and partner at Confluence Wealth Management LLC. She has 30+ years’ experience in the financial industry, as consultant, advisor and planner. From 1999-2011, she was president of Pacific Investment Advisors LLC. In 2012, Confluence Wealth Management LLC resulted from the  merger of Kee’s company with another Portland firm, CMC Advisers LLC.

Soo Pak specializes in brand strategy, partnership building and community outreach. She  is currently at the City of Portland, where she manages arts and culture centers and programs including Multnomah Arts Center, Community Music Center, Laurelhurst Dance Studio, Interstate Firehouse Cultural Center, Summer Free for All, and Urban Parks Programming. Before relocating to Oregon, Pak was with Brooklyn Academy of Music for more than seven years, most recently as Vice President of Marketing & Communications and BAMcinématek, the school’s film program department.

Victor Vasquez, MPA has 20+ years of experience developing strategies to revitalize struggling economies and achieve growth objectives in both the public and private sectors. President and CEO of Arroba Consulting Group since 2011, Vasquez previously served in the Obama Administration, leading policy-level initiatives as Deputy Under Secretary, Rural Development in the U.S. Department of Agriculture.  He also held appointments in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Transitional Assistance (2007-09), Washington State Community, Trade, and Economic Development (2004-06), Washington State Employment Security Department (2002-04), and the U.S. Department of Defense (1999-2001). Vasquez was awarded The Secretary of Defense National Medal for Outstanding Public Service as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Military Community and Family Policy.
