DEO GRACIAS! Festive Music for the Holiday Season
St. Anne’s Chapel, Marylhurst University

Music both brash and reserved, triumphant and contemplative, to celebrate the holiday season. John Rutter’s magnificent Gloria with its pealing brass and thundering percussion, contrasts with Benjamin Britten’s exquisite and refined Ceremony of Carols, for treble voices and harp. Performed by Marylhurst’s Choral Union and Women’s Chorale, conducted by Justin Smith and Megan Elliott.

International Holiday Festival

Fresh from their Gold win at the 2017 Grand Prix of Nations in Latvia, the Marylhurst Chamber Choir is proud to collaborate with Portland Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Yaacov Bergman, in this performance of Handel’s dramatic and immortal classic, Messiah. The program also features Shabâvâ Ensemble and music of many languages, faiths and cultures to celebrate and unite our diverse community. Additional performance at New Song Community Church on Dec. 8.

Holiday Concert: Cascade Harmony Chorus

Cascade Harmony Chorus, an all-woman a cappella group, invites community members to this free concert of holiday favorites, snacks and mingling.
