Susan Marcus Speaks on Building Sustainability Programs

Susan E Marcus, Marylhurst UniversitySusan E. Marcus, associate professor, recently spoke to the Partners for a Sustainable Washington County Community on The Business Case for Sustainability: Speaking the Language.

Dr. Marcus’ presentation included tools and approaches for building sustainability programs, from the initial assessment onward, drawing on best practices from the private sector to inform the public sector. She emphasized the need to be forward-thinking in sustainability as well as in managing risk and finances, and the importance of shared stewardship to ensure each organization continually develops and adjusts to our ever-changing world.

Partners for a Sustainable Washington County Community is a coalition of 12 Washington County organizations working together to support sustainability.

Susan E. Marcus, Ph.D. is an associate professor and external outreach coordinator for the School of Business at Marylhurst University. She works with M.B.A. students on their capstone projects, teaches foundation courses in the B.S. in Business Management program and supports the department in outreach activities to partner institutions.
