Marylhurst alum Susanne Smithers ’14 was named senior project manager at JLL, a New York-based firm specializing in real estate and investment management.
In her new role, Susanne Smithers oversees project management services throughout the state of New York.
Susanne has more than 17 years of experience in project management, with a focus on sustainability. Her specialty is developing and executing strategic business plans to penetrate target markets, optimize product and service exposure, and achieve goals.
“Susanne has a strong reputation in the industry for building relationships and creating solutions,” said Don Bucci, managing director of JLL Project and Development Services.
Prior to joining JLL, Susanne served as director of sustainability for ERS Consulting LLC, offering cost-effective, strategic solutions to new and expanding businesses. She also worked as vice president at ERS Energy Inc., where she oversaw business development initiatives in the United States, China and Canada, and as director of project management/contract administration for ERS Energy, ensuring that projects met consumer requirements and contractual obligations.

Susanne Smithers earned her M.B.A. in Sustainable Business with a concentration in renewable energy from Marylhurst University in 2014. She is a member of the Project Management Institute and the New York Upstate chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council. She serves on the board of Christian Brothers Academy Athletic Booster Club, and she coaches a youth Amateur Athletic Union basketball team in Syracuse.
