Marylhurst MBA alum Uche Onwuzurike ’16 was hired at Intel as HR Business Partner – Organizational Effectiveness Practitioner, supporting Intel’s Data Center Group, in July 2017.
In his new role at Intel, Uche Onwuzurike leads intervention strategies to increase organizational effectiveness and improve business results, including organization assessment, diagnosis and design, talent management, leadership development, change and transition management, and strategic operationalization.
Patience, persistence and a robust personal network led to his dream job.
“As difficult as it is to find your dream job in today’s competitive work environment, you will need determination, passion and love for your career path to meet your professional goals,” Uche posted on Facebook.
“After I graduated with my MBA last year, I applied to several different companies,” he continued. “While I was consistently called in for interviews, they either hired an internal candidate, or I never heard back from them.”
Just as Uche was beginning to think he’d exhausted all his options, a friend recommended him for an open position at Intel. After several interviews, he was offered the job.
“Dreams really do come true,” Uche said. Despite the year-long process in his post-graduation job hunt being frustrating at times, Uche refused to give up. Now that he’s landed the perfect job, he will be the first to tell you – it was worth all the effort.
Uche Onwuzurike earned his MBA from Marylhurst University, graduating with honors, in 2016.
