Through scholarships, Marylhurst wants to recognize your academic success and help you access an exceptional bachelor’s degree education.
Current Scholarships Available for High Achievers (Like You!)
Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship – Receive Up to $15,000
If you’re a member of Phi Theta Kappa (community college honor society), Marylhurst has a scholarship to honor your achievements. Receive up to $5,000 a year for three years (so up to $15,000 total). In order to continue to receive the scholarship while at Marylhurst, you do need to have continuous enrollment and maintain good academic standing. Most of our students do complete their bachelor’s degree within three years.
Requirement: Membership in Phi Theta Kappa and a minimum of 30 transfer credits.
President’s Scholarship – Receive Up to $12,000
Have you earned a 3.5 GPA in your undergraduate coursework and completed at least 30 college credits? You may qualify for the President’s Scholarship at Marylhurst. Receive up to $4,000 per year for three years (up to $12,000 total). In order to receive the scholarship while at Marylhurst, you do need to have continuous enrollment and maintain good academic standing. Most students do complete their bachelor’s degree within three years.
Requirement: 3.5 GPA and 30 transferable college credits
Trustee Scholarship – Receive Up to $9,000
This scholarship recognizes your hard work so far on your path to complete your bachelor’s degree. If you hold a 3.0 GPA and have at least 30 college credits, you may qualify for the Trustee Scholarship at Marylhurst. Receive up to $3,000 per year for three years (up to $9,000 total). In order to receive the scholarship while at Marylhurst, you do need to have continuous enrollment over the three years and maintain good academic standing. Most students do complete their bachelor’s degree within three years.

The majority of Marylhurst classes are offered online or online with a mix of campus classes, which often are held in the evenings or on the weekends.

With a nationally recognized credit for prior learning program, Marylhurst helps you earn college credit for outside-the-classroom learning, like work or military experience.
MU accepts most transfer credits and has great partnerships with local community colleges – creating clear pathways to a degree. Most Marylhurst students complete their bachelor’s degree major in two-to-three years.

Choose from a diverse selection of liberal arts and business programs
Marylhurst is a private, nonprofit applied liberal arts and business university that offers diverse bachelor’s degree completion programs. Many of our students start at a community college and transfer their credits to Marylhurst to complete their degree. Our scholarships offer an exceptional opportunity for high achievers to complete a bachelor’s degree from a premier institution but with financial assistance to make a private education accessible.

Liberal Studies Program
Marylhurst offers a B.A./B.A.S. program in Liberal Studies that helps students focus their bachelor’s degree based on their individual career goals. The Liberal Studies program gives students the flexibility to combine coursework from various disciplines. In addition, students can focus their Liberal Studies program in the following ways:

In 1929, Marylhurst University (known as Marylhurst College then) moved its campus location after 30+ years in downtown Portland to our serene, scenic spot near the Willamette River along Highway 43. We’re located just 10 miles south of downtown Portland.
